Why Membership?

You were designed to be a part of a church family. And that's exactly what Lost Mountain is intended to be: family. A healthy family has common mission, vision, and values. At Lost Mountain we want to share with you what we believe and where we're going. God wants all of us to grow as disciples that we might truly live out His plan for our life. More than anything else, our Lost Mountain family wants to come alongside you and help you understand what it means to be a disciple and grow as one as you pursue God.

Biblical Reasons for Joining a Church:
  1. You have the benefit of receiving the care of, and being accountable to, the spiritual leaders God has appointed for Lost Mountain Baptist Church (Acts 20:28; Hebrews 13:17). This assumes that you have a covenant relationship with the spiritual leaders of Lost Mountain. They are responsible for you and you to them.
  2. You are not ashamed to identify with Christ or His people (Mark 8:38).
  3. You stop trying to be an “independent” Christian (Matthew 18:15-17, Hebrews 13:17).
  4. You participate in a stronger, more unified effort of God’s people (Philippians 1:3-7).
  5. You have greater opportunities to use spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4).
  6. You openly demonstrate the reality of the local church (Romans 12:9-16).
  7. You encourage new believers/attenders toward a deeper commitment (Hebrews 10:24-25).
