NEXT CLASS FALL 2023
LM Institute exists because...
We believe discipleship can and should happen primarily in the context of the local church. Our goal is to make the Bible and theology accessible to everyone through transformative learning environments within the church.
"Where God’s Word is, there is God Himself, there God’s Spirit is at work, there God establishes His covenant, there He plants His church."
-HERMAN BAVINCK
Why LM Institute?
LM Institute exists to answer the question, “How can the local church effectively form disciples through transformational learning environments?” LMI seeks to do that through a variety of environments, from one-time forums to a year-long intensive discipleship program, all centered on Gospel story, Gospel beliefs and Gospel formation.
There are many things that are nice for disciples, through LM Institute we want to pursue what we believe is necessary for disciples—for all disciples: bible, doctrine, and spiritual formation.
We’re excited that you’re interested in LM Institute! Our hope is that participation in LMI will lead to deeper love of God, His Word and others, increased biblical and theological formation, and greater passion and preparation for missional living.

Learn. Know. Apply.
LEARN God’s story through His Word.
In order to understand who God is, you become more familiar with the Bible and what God has done to reconcile the world to Himself in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
KNOW how that story informs your beliefs.
As you learn more about God through His Word, you also think through major biblical doctrines and how, as a result, your beliefs are shaped by them.
APPLY those beliefs to every sphere of your life.
With biblical knowledge and rightly rooted beliefs, you live out God’s story in your day-to-day, becoming a mature disciple of Jesus Christ.
Core Classes
Believers need good foundations to grow. LM Institute offers three Core Classes to help people internalize their faith and connect it practically to everyday life. Our Core Classes are for everyone, and can be taken in any order.
We hope all LMBC members and regular attenders will go through them at some point.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Electives

NEW! Beginning Spring 2023, we will be offering our first elective course, Intro to Church History.
Most Christians know little about the history of the Church. As a result, they’re missing a testament to God’s steadfast faithfulness throughout the centuries. Church history is not about names, dates, and facts. It is about the flesh and blood people of God and the life and death issues that have shaped our struggles and joys for two thousand years.
Timothy Paul Jones begins Christian History Made Easy with a chapter entitled, “The Gospels, the Apostles, Then . . . What?”. Over 11 weeks we will learn about the history of the Church through the people and moments that have shaped it. The history of the Church is sometimes absurd and sometimes inspiring, yet always exciting and covered with God’s amazing grace.
