Philosophy of Children’s Ministry
Children are a blessing from God. While parents have the biblical mandate (Dt. 6:4-8) to teach their children about God, the body of Christ has a responsibility to partner with parents to raise children to know God personally. As the future leaders of the church, children need a foundation of faith which occurs when the body invests in them. Children encounter Christ and are disciple when provided with age-appropriate, Bible-based teaching in small groups, worship, and special ministry events in a nurturing environment. Since parents/ grandparents have the most influence on children in matters of faith, the body must also support parents in carrying out their biblical mandate. Parents/ grandparents who are comfortable sharing their faith provide children with the greatest opportunity to learn about Christ, make a decision for Christ, and be discipled, therefore being ready to lead now and in the future.
